Disney resort categories

Overview

Disney classifies their hotels and other accommodations according to the level of amenities you can expect to receive and the price you'll be asked to pay. Hotels with monorail stops tend to be more expensive than those with only bus service, and those with a more upscale appeal will (of course) be priced at a premium. Here's a look at the categories of Disney resorts and some of the amenities and other features you can expect to find at each level.

Disney Deluxe resorts

• High-end resorts with premium pricing
• Largest rooms with upscale amenities and luxurious decor
• Most offer convenient transportation to theme parks via short walk, monorail, or boat
• Most rooms accommodate up to 5 people
• All have table service restaurants and room service available
• Most offer amenities such as a beach area and/or playground, a health club, kids programs, refrigerators, and babysitting services

Disney Moderate resorts

• Room sizes comparable to Disney deluxe resorts at greatly reduced prices
• Most rooms accommodate up to 5 people
• Fewer amenities available than deluxe resorts
• All have table service restaurants and limited room service albeit with fewer options than deluxe resorts
• Transportation to parks limited to bus service
• All Disney moderate resorts have a playground, marina, and babysitting services
• Other amenities are sparse

Disney Value resorts

• Newest Disney hotel option makes staying on-property affordable for most families.
• Limited to four guests per room
• No table-service restaurants, but counter service dining options are available
• Smaller no-frills rooms, but hotels are decorated in unique themes
• Transportation to parks limited to bus service
• All offer pizza-only room service and all have a playground
• None of Disney's Value Resorts offer optional refrigerators or other amenities

Disney Deluxe villas

• Offer vast array of room types to support larger groups, longer stays, and special needs
• Range from campground to large, luxurious multi-bedroom suites
• Accommodations range from 4 to 12 guests
• All have refrigerators and kitchens or kitchenettes
• All offer bus service to the parks, most offer boat service to the parks
• Most have table-service restaurants, room service, high-speed Internet access and other deluxe amenities
• All have playgrounds and babysitting services, all except one have a health club
