Animal Kingdom: Opening & closing shows

Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto at the Animal Kingdom opening showAnimal Kingdom opening show

Let the Adventure Begin! The opening of the park at Animal Kingdom is not without fanfare. There's a brief show at the entrance featuring Minnie, Goofy, the 'official adventure guide' (a.k.a. Mickey), and Pluto clad in safari gear to get things rolling.

Minnie, Goofy and Pluto roll up on a cool safari truck near the Tree of Life and call Mickey on the radio. Mickey arrives to unroll a safari map and the countdown begins...3....2.....1, "Let the Adventure Begin!"

Animal Kingdom opening show- Let the Adventure Begin!

The show takes place near where the main path entering the park opens up to go around the Tree of Life which forms a backdrop for the show. It's not a big production like the opening show at Magic Kingdom, but it's brief and helps you get in the spirit for your day at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park.

Animal Kingdom closing show

There is no closing show at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Since the other shows involve fireworks and other pyrotechnics, this would not be an option at Animal Kingdom because the animals would get scared. Stampeding rhinos, lions, and tigers would be bad for Disney's image.
