| The World Showcase pavilions are what truly give
Epcot its international flavor, and feature pavilions dedicated
to 11 different countries. All of the pavilions house shops, restaurants,
and architecture of the host nation, and all are staffed by citizens
of the countries they represent. A handful of these pavilions feature
a ride or show to enhance the international experience.
The 11 nations of the Epcot World Showcase (arranged in a circle
around the World Showcase Lagoon) are: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany,
Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and
Canada. The countries listed below offer a ride or attraction in
addition to the shops, food, and architecture.
Canada
The Canada Pavilion features a recently updated Circle-Vision film
starring Martin Short called "O Canada!" Parents beware- no strollers
are allowed in this feature, and everyone stands during the show
(for the best views). For this reason, families with small children
may choose to pass on this one.
France
Like most of the international pavilions with an attraction, the
France Pavilion features a short film. Rather than the 360 degree
view films shown in the Canada and China pavilions, Impressions
de France is shown on a 200-degree wide-screen. You'll enjoy this
20 minute feature, and there's no waiting as shows run on the ½
hour.
United
States
The American Adventure is the feature attraction at the United
States Pavilion. This multimedia presentation features animatronic
figures combined with video to deliver an entertaining look at American
history. See Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and more in this
patriotic 30-minute presentation.
China
The China Pavilion features Reflections of China, an inside look
at a country which is still a mystery to many. Although the film
features nice views of the Great Wall of China, and panoramic views
of the scenery of the Country, the film looks a little dated, and
is missing one of the 'symbols' of China- the Giant Panda.
Norway
The Norway Pavilion features an entertaining boat ride called Maelstrom.
Climb aboard your Viking Ship to tour the fjords, waterfalls, and
other scenery in this beautiful country. There's even a (mildly
scary) surprise waiting for unsuspecting riders... Hang on!
Mexico
Like Norway, the Mexico Pavilion features a nice little boat ride
that showcases the scenery and culture of the country. Join the
animated Three Caballeros (including Donald Duck) on this short
entertaining journey.
