Visiting Animal Kingdom
Arrive
at the park early for a chance to see "The Adventure Begins" musical
that accompanies the park opening.
- The park tip board is located on Discovery Island as you cross
from the Oasis on the right. Use it to see wait times and ride
closures.
- You'll be able to see most of the park easily in one day. If
you can't get to the park at the opening, consider waiting until
mid-afternoon (3:00 - 4:00 p.m.) when crowds begin to clear. You'll
still have time to see the entire park.
Ride
Kilimanjaro Safaris early in the day, or in the late evening.
You'll see more animals, and they'll be more active. On our 10:00
a.m. safari, we even had to wait as elephants crossed the road
in front of us!
- Get your FASTPASS for Expedition Everest early in the morning.
They are often gone by early afternoon.
- Although the hilly terrain and winding paths can be a challenge
to navigate, this park has more shade, and less walking overall
than the others.
- You'll need to get to the Finding Nemo musical early if you
hope to get a seat. It fills up very quickly!
You
won't want to miss Kali River Rapids, especially on a hot day!
There is storage space in the center of the raft to keep your
valuables (and shoes!) dry.
- After you ride Kali River Rapids, man the cannons on the bridge
for your chance to soak other unsuspecting riders.
- Brightly colored shirts and hats will be useful if you're letting
your little ones play at "The Boneyard". This sprawling playground
which simulates a dinosaur dig is an especially easy spot to lose
your little ones.
- If you're susceptible to motion sickness on 'spinny' rides,
skip the Primeval Whirl coaster. At first glance it seems like
a typical 'wild mouse' type of coaster; however, the cars spin
quit a bit throughout the ride which will leave the motion-sensitive
types feeling a bit queasy.
