Visiting Epcot
- Although Epcot is an educational park, you may not want to
promote it to the kids as such. Nothing takes the fun out of a
Disney vacation more than feeling like you're at school! Chances
are they'll have fun while they're there, and learn a little bit
too!
- Pick up your FASTPASS for the most popular rides, like Soarin'
early in the day. These passes sell out quickly, and you'll be
surprised to find yours is for several hours ahead of time. If
the passes are sold out, you'll wait at least 45 minutes to ride.
(Although with Soarin' it's DEFINITELY worth the wait!)
If
you're afraid of heights or prone to motion sickness, don't be
scared off by the warnings at Soarin'! It's not bad once you 'take
off', and the sensation of flying is simply incredible!
- The Epcot tip board is located in the central hub of Innovations.
Check it out to see wait times for the popular attractions.
When
you visit the World Showcase, consider taking the ferry across
and stopping to see the attractions on the way back. If you do
this, you'll only see about ½ of the countries, but it will save
you a ton of walking!
- If you're leery of motion sickness in Mission Space, the attraction
offers a 'toned down' version which may be less likely to turn
your stomach.
- Don't skip the Spaceship Earth attraction. (It's what's inside
the big ball.) This is a very entertaining journey through time,
and the end of the ride features some very fun 'hands on' activities
that will keep the kids entertained for an hour or so.
